Building Momentum in Fort Worth: Ori Cattle’s Next Steps

Fort Worth - R&D

Ori Cattle is building relationships in Fort Worth as we continue developing our technology and preparing for the next stage of growth. We’ve begun conversations with organizations in the region to explore how their expertise, resources, and networks could support our trajectory. Our focus includes opportunities to expand research and product development, strengthen production planning, and prepare for future manufacturing needs. These discussions are an encouraging step toward building the capabilities needed to support our Pilot Program participants and serve more producers over time.

Preparing for growth involves work across both the product and the operations that support it. Alongside these conversations, our team is bringing together component specifications and build information to support continued development and future manufacturing discussions. Having that information organized helps us evaluate production options, communicate requirements, and maintain consistency as the product evolves. We’re approaching potential partnerships with those practical needs in mind, looking at how each relationship could contribute to Ori’s development and ability to deliver.

On the technical side, battery performance remains a priority as we refine the tags for everyday use in cattle operations. Our team worked through firmware updates and battery replacement steps to address the battery usage issue identified during testing. We’re also evaluating how the frequency of communication between tags and gateways could help preserve battery life while providing useful updates to producers. These considerations are guiding our design discussions, including how we balance tag size, functionality, and longevity.

We’re also preparing clearer ways to introduce producers to the Ori app and help them understand how to use it. Planned screen recordings and walkthroughs will show how to navigate the interface and find the information available within it. These materials are intended to support future tutorials and frequently asked questions, giving producers a practical reference as they become familiar with the system. Making the technology easier to understand and use is an important part of the work alongside hardware and software development.

Together, these efforts reflect the direction we’re taking: continuing to refine the product while preparing the relationships, processes, and support needed for growth. Our focus remains on developing dependable technology that gives cattle producers useful insights and fits into their daily operations. We know our Pilot Program participants are looking for meaningful progress, and we appreciate the patience and support they have shown throughout development. We’ll continue sharing updates as technical work advances, partnership discussions develop, and next steps are confirmed.
